William B. Schwartz
William Schwartz was born in 1954 and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude from Tulane University in 1976 and Juris Doctorate degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1979.
Bill is a litigator with almost thirty years experience. His litigation practice involves admiralty and maritime actions, premises liability, death and personal injury, property and casualty claims, collision and offshore claims. Bill has been an Adjunct Professor of trial advocacy at the Tulane University School of Law since 1993. He has been a speaker at seminars and conferences for clients and industry on trial and maritime matters.
Bill is a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and a member of the New Orleans Bar Association Chapter of the American Inn of Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and Maritime Law Association of the United States. He serves on the Environmental/Government Affairs Committee of the Harvey Canal Industrial Association, is an active member of Offshore Marine Service Association and the Mariners Club of the Port of New Orleans. Bill has been a board member and officer of a Louisiana non-profit organization, A Child’s Wish of Greater New Orleans, since 1988. Bill is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State and Federal courts as well as the U.S. Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. He maintains an AV rating which is the highest rating of his peers according to Martindale Hubbell.
