Stephen P. Schott

Stephen Schott joined the firm as a partner in January of 2010.  His practice areas include business transactions, business litigation, real estate transactions, real estate litigation, environmental law, and appeals.

He is an active member in the community and belongs to many organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Environmental Law Institute.  He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal and the State Law Advisory Committee for BNA's Environmental Due Diligence Guide.  He is the author of an environmental law handbook, entitled Louisiana Environmental Law, and his work has also been published in the U.C.L.A. Journal of Environmental Law and Policy.   He also serves as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cottam Park Civic Association.

A native of New Orleans, he received his undergraduate degree in accounting, magna cum laude, from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1979.  He then attended Loyola University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1983. Steve later received his Master of Laws and Letters (LL.M.), with distinction, in Energy and Environment from Tulane University while practicing law full time.
