On February 1, 2007, First Evangelist Housing and Community Development Corporation in partnership with Associated Neighborhood Development presented the grand opening of The Magnolia Villas. The Honorable C. Ray Nagin, Mayor City of New Orleans, was in attendance at The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony along with Rev. Edward Hogan Jr., President of First Evangelist Housing and Community Development Corporation and Leon H. Rittenberg III, President of Associated Neighborhood Development.

Leon H. Rittenberg III devotes his time to Associated Neighborhood Development on a pro bono basis. Assoicated Neighborhood Development contributed the land to convert a dilapidated, abandoned motel into a permanent home for the homeless and disabled.
