2008 Tour de Lis
April 12, 2008

Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer is proud to announce they are sponsoring the 2008 Tour de Lis on April 12th.

Tour de Lis is a road cycling event that benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation; the Cancer Association of Greater N.O. and Planet Cancer . It's not a race - it's a ride with a purpose - to raise funds for and awareness about cancer survival, support, and research-to celebrate survivors and support those still in battle. The inaugural Tour de Lis in April 2007 raised $40,000 and featured five riders who cycled 150 miles around Lake Pontchartrain.

The ride will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 12, 2008 and end at 12:00 Noon.

• The nine-mile (9) route is a closed and secured loop which will launch from Landry's Seafood House with the U.S. Army Reserve Armory the halfway point of the loop.

• Approximately 75 volunteers are needed for the event.

• There are many in-kind food and supply needs for the event.

• The event will feature entertainment at the staging point.

• The 9 mile individual time trial to be staged at the end of the ride will be at 12:30 PM and is open to the first 25 men and 25 women applicants. This event is designed for elite riders and will include merchandise awards for the first three finishers in each category. This will be a great spectator event.
